What's the expected lifespan of a kayak?

Some kayaks last a lifetime, but it depends on the owner. There are kayaks in museums that are hundreds of years old and still usable, and there are kayaks built 20 years ago that are useless. With proper treatment, the canvas can easily last 20 years. The frame can last indefinitely and be resheathed when necessary.
